There’s a new company (I think started by the Pirate Bay guys) called Flattr that allows people to sign up and spread ‘micro-payments’ around to any content creators whose work they enjoy. It’s a cool concept that could potentially help solve some of the issues with “getting paid” online. Chemical Friends – Love the outdoorsy feel to start, with birds, guitar seemingly recorded on some old analog device. I like the vocals, but it for some reason takes away from the mystique of the track… this seemed like an Underworld piece at first that could have gone electronic… now I see it’s going to be a song. This is great, but I don’t think it should just end… have the outdoorsy feel go on for 10-20 seconds then bring in track deuce!

Bleed (If You Go Away) – The vocals in this track seem stronger. I like. I find myself bobbing my head to this, which I guess means I really like it on some primal level. I would say this is my type of music, yet I find myself grooving to it. That’s a great sign. This track picks up in the second half like a mother fucker. I love it!

So Alone – Well this starts of different from the first two tracks. Reminds me of how the Beatles would bullshit before a song. A faster paced, stronger song, with a more determined goal. More powerful. With this song following the first two, I am VERY interested to see where the rest of this goes. It almost has that fast-paced groove of early seventies and late sixties songs, but I don’t know which artist to name.

Sixteen – This track has a definite upbeat feel when compared to the first four tracks. It’s a little floaty and airy, just sort of rollin’ by like a daydream. Super Furry Animals? I don’t mean to make a joke, but this sounds like something Kurt Cobain would have made had he not been so grunge-minded. Vocally.

Out of Control – The buildup works for me. Is this going to be an anthem or will there be lyrics? Nice surprise with the vocal effects! I wasn’t sure if there were going to be generic lyrics to this song, because of its feel, and I was not disappointed by what was done here vocally. Everything in this track works off of each other very well. Everything stands on its own and nothing seems to be in control.

Go – Drums sound tribal and ritualistic, which is why the vocals throw me off a bit here. It has a good, steady pace, but nothing as powerful as what else is on this album. Then again it is the last track, making for a good cool-down. A nice and easy way to end and bring things to closure.
